As bourbon is kind of the "backbone" of Bardstown, it is fitting that they have a museum based on bourbon. Spalding Hall was used as a hospital during the civil war. Today it houses two fabulous museums. The Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History
presents a collection spanning from pre-Colonial days to the post-Prohibition years. Here you can learn the difference between bourbon and whisky and find out why the stuff is often referred to as "booze." Two hundred years of local history are displayed next door at the
Bardstown Historical Museum.Take a look at some photos at the museums. |
